Forbidden Sounds - In the Cave
Текст песни
Текст песни: I climbed up the mountain through mist and through stone
I left all the voices I left all I owned
I found me a cave where the wind could not find
And there in the darkness I quieted my mind
And there sat an old man with eyes like the sky
His beard touched the ground he was wrinkled and dry
He looked through my bones and he looked through my fear
And then he began as the fire burned near
He spoke of the time before time had a name
When nothing yet moved and no fire yet came
There was only the stillness that held everything
Like a seed that was waiting for spring
Then two of them woke from that ocean of rest
One was the east and one was the west
One was the pushing and one was the pull
One made things empty and one made them full
And the old man he whispered the truth in my ear
That darkness is not what we have to fear
And light is not good and the dark is not sin
They are two wings that make the same bird spin
He said there are beings who live in the heights
Who carry the sun and who carry the lights
They whisper to dreamers they visit the weak
They speak through the rivers they speak through the creek
And there are the others who live in the deep
Who wake in the shadows and watch while we sleep
They break what is rotten they tear what is old
To make the soil ready for the new to unfold
And sometimes these two would meet face to face
In temples and deserts in time and in space
They wrestle they argue they push and they bend
But they are not enemies they are not foes
They are the beginning and they are the close
I asked him the old man with eyes like the sky
Why do they stay why do they try
He smiled and he pointed his bone-dry hand
To the ground at his feet to the dust and the sand
He said we are not just dust and not just the clay
We carry the spark from the very first day
They fight through us they dance through our breath
To remember the light that defeats even death
And when we are done with our walking below
We go back to the mountain we go back to the snow
And the ones from the light and the ones from the night
Meet in the heart of the same silent light
And the old man he whispered the truth in my ear
That darkness is not what we have to fear
And light is not good and the dark is not sin
They are two wings that make the same bird spin
Now I know why I came
Now I know the way home
Two wings
One bird
One song
I left all the voices I left all I owned
I found me a cave where the wind could not find
And there in the darkness I quieted my mind
And there sat an old man with eyes like the sky
